design philosophy

With 16 years experience in interactive design I have an excellent understanding of what makes for a beautiful and intuitive interface. I have designed over 700 interfaces and concepts as a freelance, interactive designer and worked with many of the top digital agencies on blue chip projects.

My design philosophy remains a simple one. I focus on meeting your brief as closely and completely as possible. The user experience is crucial and maintaining your client’s brand integrity equally important.

I do not play favourites to any particular projects and pride myself on providing a custom design that hits the mark each and every time. I can anticipate briefing issues before problems may arise and bring these to light before time is invested. I am keenly aware of budgets and the need for efficiency in meeting them and project deadlines.

My experience in interactive design began in 1996. I remember an article back then in the IT section of ‘The Australian’ newspaper debating whether the internet was just a fad! After being involved in many aspects of web design including UX, I began freelancing as a specialist in visual UI in 2004.

My first love was always visual design. The rise of the internet allowed me to adapt my old graphic design skills to a new medium. At the heart of these new skills still lies the timeless, fundamental principles of good design though.

My clients are spread right across Australia and the USA. Almost all of my work is done remotely.

I have designed web interfaces for almost every industry you could think of. And now as convergence increases, I expect the call for responsive interfaces will become louder as business plays catch up.
